Development of 3D printed nanomaterials for restoration of exterior artworks

Abstract Despite the great potential of 3D printing technologies coupled with nanotechnologies, just few studies are present in scientific literature. Application nanocomposites materials for field cultural heritage restoration, is a promising approach to obtain novel and functionalized artworks element be recreated. In this context, work aims study innovative suitable considered application. A commercial PLA filament was additivated SiC, SiO 2 TiO nanoparticles, synthetized by CO laser pyrolysis. Nanocomposite filaments were produced co-rotating twin-screw extruder specimens analysed against their mechanical hydrophobic properties means tensile tests water absorption contact angle measurements, respectively.
